A Stone Appears
“This is now bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh;
She shall be called Woman,
Because she was taken out of Man.”
DRAW WITH ME is a film directed by Constantine Venetopoulos in collaboration with THE TREVOR PROJECT about the coming out journey of a youth who identifies as trans and about how their art became their outlet for self expression, while on the complex journey of having to be yourself in a world that at times struggles with diversity. The story is a one of the power of having the right support, self expression, and finding yourself at your own pace.
A man and a woman live in a secluded space repeating their daily routine throughout an infinite loop, until A Stone Appears which alters the way they perceive the world and each other.
Abandonment is a language written in silence- a sort of a death, for the dead. Pain seeks refuge in poetry, yet loss is a brick wall we have to learn how to walk through, or we choose to remain in a loop. Perchance is a visual poem that sheds light on just that: the wall. This is my first wall.
They say we are two people. We are the person we are with the memories we keep. And we are the person we are with the memories we have forgotten.
